Naomi is a director and producer working in documentary. Influenced by her experience as a queer woman and a passion for social and environmental justice, she seeks out stories that amplify diverse voices and change minds through entertaining narratives.
Her Screen Australia-funded short documentary Who I Am (2022) screened at international and Australian film festivals, released on 10 play and Paramount+, received an honourable mention at Antenna Film Festival, and garnered her a Best Director nomination in the Australian Directors Guild Awards. She directed Searching for the Tassie Tiger (2021), which reached 3.5M views on VICE YouTube, broadcast on SBS Viceland in Australia, and won the AIDC 2020 Pitch Australiana competition. In 2023 she worked at Regen Studios as an Impact Producer through a VicScreen placement, leading the impact campaign for Rachel’s Farm (2023), and she is the Impact Producer for forthcoming feature Guardians of the River, produced by Walking Fish and Brown Sugar Apple Grunt.
Beyond film, she has worked on social impact and communications campaigns for some of Australia and Aotearoa/New Zealand’s most respected charities and brands both as a director/producer of video content and as a communications consultant.
Originally from Aotearoa, she now lives and works in Naarm/Melbourne.
